Each year, hundreds of aspiring performers audition to join this prestigious group, vying for the opportunity to be part of a legacy that has inspired generations.One such performer is Ian Black, a University of Wisconsin-Whitewater vocal performance major and Oregon High School alumnus. Encouraged by a friend who had been part of the Kids From Wisconsin in the past, Black seized the chance to audition and was thrilled to be selected for the 56th troupe. "To be a part of this group; to have this as my first professional gig as a performer, is amazing," Black expressed, reflecting on the incredible opportunity that has launched his career.

Rigorous Training and Dedication

The journey to the stage for the Kids From Wisconsin is marked by an intense 2.5-week training camp at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Each day, the ensemble of 22 singers and dancers, along with 14 band members, immerses themselves in a grueling schedule that includes breakfast, two hours of dance rehearsal, lunch, two more hours of dance, one to two hours of vocal training, and dinner, followed by even more dance practice."It was probably the most challenging thing I've ever done, but every second of it was worth it," Black said, acknowledging the dedication and commitment required to be part of this exceptional group. Traversing the State and Beyond
