Empowering Families, Transforming Lives
Riding the Waves of Generosity
The "Surf to Save Lives" initiative is a unique opportunity for water sports enthusiasts to contribute to a worthy cause while enjoying their passion. For every minute spent on the water – whether wakeboarding, wake surfing, water skiing, or even tubing – MasterCraft will donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The goal is to raise a remarkable ,000, and the campaign is already a third of the way there.Participants can easily get involved by downloading a free app, locating the surfer icon, and hitting "start" to track their water sports time throughout the summer. The campaign runs until October 1st, providing ample time for families and friends to make a lasting impact.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Water Sports Champions
At the forefront of this initiative is seven-time world champion Meagan Ethell, who has been a professional wakeboarder for over a decade. Ethell's passion for the sport began at a young age, and she has dedicated her life to pursuing her wakeboarding dreams."I started wakeboarding when I was eight years old," Ethell recalls. "I moved down to Florida to pursue my wakeboarding dreams, and then when I was 15, I turned pro." Despite her hectic schedule, Ethell is committed to using her platform to make a difference."When I do get the time to slow down, I really like to help with these causes," she says. "So yeah, this is really amazing."Ethell's involvement in the "Surf to Save Lives" campaign is not only a testament to her philanthropic spirit but also an inspiration for young girls who aspire to follow in her footsteps. She encourages newcomers to the sport, saying, "You can totally do it. If you believe in yourself, you can make it happen. It can be a little intimidating to get on the water for the first time, but once you get up, that feeling is unmatched."
Harnessing the Power of Water Sports for Good
The partnership between MasterCraft and St. Jude's is a testament to the transformative power of water sports. By leveraging the joy and excitement of these activities, the campaign aims to inspire families and individuals to make a tangible difference in the lives of sick children."We're basically trying to get people out on the water with their families, and while they're doing that, simultaneously raise funds for a good cause," Ethell explains.Josh Palma, a former athlete now working in marketing for MasterCraft, further highlights the initiative's impact. "For every minute spent on water sports — wakeboarding, wake surfing, water-skiing, or even tubing— MasterCraft is donating to St. Jude's. The goal is ,000."As the campaign continues to gain momentum, the organizers are confident that the water sports community will rise to the occasion, embracing the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of those in need.
